HEALTH CARE

Since 1949, the quiet banks of the Pungo River have provided a home for Pungo District Hospital. This small rural hospital has unique characteristics that few health care facilities can claim--a solarium filled with beautiful shrubs and flowers, given in memory of Mr. Clyde Potter, and the helipad (helicopter landing pad) or the water ambulance dock located on the hospital grounds. Byland, sea or air Pungo District Hospital is a attraction in Belhaven.
