* Aurora Fossil Museum --

* contains a wide variety of fossils uncovered in the process of mining phosphate by PCS Phosphate (formerly Texasgulf, Inc.) in eastern Beaufort County. The sharks' teeth and other fossils reveal many facts about the formation of this area. The museum is a joint project of PCS and the Town of Aurora.

* Open during June, July and August from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Tuesday--Friday and 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday. (Closed Sunday and Monday.) September through May, the museum is open Monday --Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and other times by appointment. For more information, contact Candace Holiday at 919-322-4238. (Tri-County Telephone)
