The Civic Center is occasionally closed for private functions. To verify gallery hours or to schedule a group visit, call the Arts Council at 946-2504 or the Civic Center at 975-9316. The Beaufort County Arts Council provides cultural opportunities through initiation, support and presentation of artistic programs in Beaufort County and is a moving force in the community's involvement in the arts.

LANE GIFT SHOP -- Features Arts and Crafts by local craftspeople throughout the year.-- The restored train station depot is filled with many functional and decorative items. Visitors are welcome weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come by and browse, or call to volunteer.

The Beaufort county Arts Council and Civic Center are located in the restored train station on Main and Second Streets in downtown Washington, North Carolina.
